House of Hazards Unblocked — Play Free Online

House of Hazards is a local party game built around one bad idea: a perfectly ordinary house that is trying to hurt whoever is walking through it. Two to four players share a single screen and one keyboard. One of them is the person with a list of household jobs to finish, and the others get to play the house itself, setting off traps at the moment they will do the most damage.

A round is short and loud. The player on offence is racing to get through their chores while dodging whatever the rest of the room throws at them: appliances that go off, furniture that gives way, objects that drop from above. The players on defence are watching that runner and timing their own switches. When someone gets caught out, the whole living room sees it, which is most of the fun.

On Super Smash Flash it sits next to the games people load up for the same reason as the headline title, a few friends and one keyboard. It is less about combos and execution than about mischief and timing, so it suits players who do not want to learn a move list.

How to play

Each player has a movement pair, a jump key and an action key.

• Player 1: A and D move, W jumps, S acts.
• Player 2: J and L move, I jumps, K acts.

The action key does different things depending on your role. On offence, you use it to carry out your chores when you reach the right spot. On defence, you use it to trigger a hazard when the runner walks past one. The game can also fill empty seats with CPU players, so you can start it with only one or two people at the keyboard.

Tips

• As the runner, keep moving. Standing still next to a trap is how you get hit; walking past one at speed often gets you out of range before it fires.
• As a trap player, do not press the action key the moment someone appears. Wait until they are actually under or beside the hazard, because an early trigger warns them and wastes it.
• Watch where the other players are on screen. Their position tells you which hazard they are about to walk into.
• With two people on one keyboard, agree on your key areas first so hands do not collide. The two control sets sit on opposite sides for this reason.
